YELLOW BELT (7th KYU)

KIHON

1) Kake Uke - Hooking Block
2) Mawashi Uke - Circular Block
3) Soto Uke - Outside Block

KATA

The meaning of the Kata Gekisai Dai Ni is ‘to Attack and Destroy - Two’ and has just two differences from Kata 1. The first change is the Uchi Uke (Inside Block) when facing backwards now becomes Kake Uke (Hooking Block), which we do twice forwards and once backwards. The second difference is that the final move is changed to Mawashi Uke (Circular Block).

COMBOS

For Yellow Belt, students are required to pefrom three moves of combo 2, up to the body punch.

/1/ Chudan Mawashi Geri (Body Kick) /2/ Spin and Ushiro Geri (Backwards Heel Kick)
/3/ Chudan Zuki (Body Punch)

ESCAPES

Clothes escapes are required for 7th Kyu Yellow Belt.
Students should be aware of protecting against the opponents free hand - looking out for a punch. They also should start to understand the importance of taking control of the opponents grabbing hand.
